Theft from motor vehicle

🚨🔧 Community Crime Alert – Tool Thefts from Vans 🔧🚨

The Hereford City Southside & Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to make residents aware of an increase in reports of tool thefts from vans across the area.

Since 04/08/2026, reports have been received from:

📍 St Clares Court – 04/08/2026
📍 Kenilworth Close – 06/08/2026
📍 Rosedale Close – 06/08/2026
📍 Dorchester Way – 06/08/2026
📍 Grantham Close – 06/08/2026

👮‍♂️ Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) has been carrying out enquiries in these areas and will continue to do so.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen, or captured on CCTV, Ring doorbell, dashcam or other video footage, an unknown person dressed all in black, riding a dark coloured/black bicycle and carrying a black rucksack during the early hours of the morning.

Crime Prevention Advice

🔒 Always lock your van, even when parked outside your home.
🔒 Remove tools overnight where possible and store them securely.
🔒 Consider installing additional locks, alarms or tracking devices.
🔒 Park in well-lit areas and position vehicles to make access to doors more difficult.
🔒 Report any suspicious activity immediately.

👀 Even the smallest piece of information could help identify those responsible and prevent further offences.
